I have had the Kodak Zi8 for almost 2 months now, and am very happy with it. It replaced an older JVC mini dv camcorder. The picture quality is very good. The widescreen aspect ratio, compared to the old format is awsome. I can't get over how crisp and clear the videos are on my HD tv. The low light videos of my daughters birthday are great. Since it slips into my shirt pocket, i take it everywhere, and now have lots of videos that I would never have taken with the older, larger camcorder. No sound problem, as the sound works great. My advise is buy it, you wont' regret it for the money. A more expensive camcorder will not get you a better picture, just a better zoom lens.
